A Facebook widget…that stops Sexual Harassment?

It can happen online...but there's always something you can do

It can happen online...but there's always something you can do

Ok…so this is not really a socially relevant blog entry…just my own opinion about sexual harassment that happens online.

Just like any other dating sites, Facebook can be a venue where “freaks” can harass women so easily.  Try to post a provoking picture…or a stunning one, and don’t get surprised if you will get tons of messages from men who will be so desperate to get you on IM, Skype or YM..or even call you.

The problem is, you actually want to meet men, else you had not signed up in these sites in the first place.  But how can you avoid being pestered by virtual harassers and still maintain a good following?

Make use of the screening capability of Facebook, Friendster, eHarmony, or other social networking sites or dating sites.  If you would like to be called by suitable contacts or friends in these sites but prefer not to publish your number, then use the JINGLEME button on your profile.

The nicest thing about JingleME widget is that it can make you virtually reachable from the internet through your Facebook, Myspace, Friendster, LinkedIn,and even Craiglist and Ebay, withotu exposing your number.  All it takes is for you to sign up at http://www.jingleme.com and get your own html code for the widget button.  Anyone who clicks on that JingleMe widget can call your phone number which will not be shown anywhere on the internet.

But isn’t this inviting more tunnel for you to be harassed?  Not at all.  Unlike Skype or any other VOIP capable service, JingleMe has a blocking feature which allows you to reject unwanted callers.  It also has a caller identification which will give you the chance to knwo who’s calling and choose to reject or answer, without the calling party knowing.  You can also set the time and date of your preference to be reachable by JingleMe.

So stop publishing your number online…Start using JingleMe by clicking here now!

When do you move from online chat to phone?

When do you move from online chat to telephone call?

How do you move from online chat to telephone call?

I am introducing a service, “JingleMe” (http://www.JingleMe.Com) as a point of discussion. It is a phone widget for Social Networking. It solves the privacy and the anonymity requirement that is needed in Social Networking space. The available call features are just right. Not over or under loaded with features. No ID, no phone numbers displayed or disclosed; Just click the “JingleMe” widget and place the call. JingleMe will allow you to listen to the caller’s name before you accept the call. If you don’t feel like taking the call, you can reject the call and the call will never go thru. You can even block the particular caller. It has a time of day feature where you can set your profile, so you can accept (or not accept) calls at certain day and time of the week. The basic service is FREE and currently available for North American market.
